A Lecture by American Professor Ian Kuijt: A Recap

During his previous visit to Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in October 2023, Ian Kuijt delivered a lecture to future historians titled “Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis: Comparative Reflections Within and Beyond Ukraine”. In this lecture, he shared his insights on how to preserve culture and maintain the memory of the past through multi-level engagement.

Archaeologist Ian Kuijt specializes in issues of memory and forgetting across various cultures and time periods. This time, he gave a lecture to Ukrainian students on ritual relics and practices in Neolithic communities of the Middle East.
